COMMON PROBLEMS

Upper Front Teeth Protrusion

The appearance and function of your teeth are impacted by this type of bite. It is characterized by the upper teeth extending too far forward or the lower teeth not extending far enough forward.

Overbite

The upper front teeth extend out over the lower front teeth, sometimes causing the lower front teeth to bite into the roof of the mouth.

Crossbite

The upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth, which may cause tooth stratification and misaligned jaw growth.

Openbite

Proper chewing is impacted by this type of bite, in which the upper and lower front teeth do not overlap. Openbite may cause a number of unwanted habits, such as tongue thrusting.

Crowding

Crowding occurs when teeth have insufficient room to erupt from the gum. Crowding can often be corrected by expansion, and many times, tooth removal can be avoided.

Spacing

Spacing problems may be caused by missing teeth, or they may only be a cosmetic or aesthetic issue.

Dental Midlines Not Matched

This type of problem is caused when the back bite does not fit and match appropriately, which may negatively impact jaw and proper dental function.

TYPES OF BRACES

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are most popular with adult patients, due to their cosmetic appeal. The only drawbacks to ceramic brackets are that they are more fragile, and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.

Self-Ligating Braces

Self-ligating braces offer several benefits for patients. They use a self-ligation technique using lighter wires and lower friction brackets to move teeth, while resulting in faster treatment times due to its slide mechanism, strong, mechanical base bonding and solid walls structured to control tooth movement with speed and efficiency. In addition to greater comfort, self-ligating braces make it easier to maintain good hygiene because they are easier to keep clean. This contributes to greater health, happiness and physical attractiveness for the duration of patient treatment.

Jupiter Kids is a one of a kind pediatric dental office. Dr.Taiym has seen my kids for years. Very professional, welcoming, and knowledgable.  Dr.Kamali is a sweetheart and you can tell she cares about her patients. Best place in the Dallas area if you are looking for a place for your kids.

Today was our first visit and I am so impressed. At our previous dentist office I felt like a number, moving through the system. Even though we had been there for years, they still call my son by his legal name which, he does not go by. When we walked in the door at Jupiter, the receptionist said “you must be____” and immediately called him by the name he goes by. We were given a quick tour of the office and I was even able to meet with Dr. Kamali, before we even began, in order to express any concerns or questions I may have. Meanwhile my son met and was Xrayed by Megan, the incredible dental hygienist. She took the time to explain everything to him before she did it, which helped with his nervous energy for sure. Overall, such a great experience. I couldn’t recommend this dental practice enough to other parents looking for an overall experience.

Beware of the suggested myobraces they promote. The device used after braces was a nightmare. Now we have to get braces again which means we have to pay AGAIN. Also, when my kiddo had to have a tooth pulled, they didn't give him the correct amount of anesthetic and he screamed and cried while the tooth was pulled. I nearly fainted. I felt like such a horrible parent for allowing this to occur. I had no clue that the dr. would continue a procedure even when a person was screaming. We both suffered trauma from this. We don't go there anymore. I really liked Dr. Elizabeth Kamali, but Dr. Sal Taiym seemed to be less professional and didn't listen to us. My comment is our family's experience. I hope that, if you choose to go here, you have a better story to tell. Every dr. treats each patient differently. Apparently, we had stupid written on our faces and cha-ching in our wallets. Very disappointed.

We found Jupiter Kids Dentistry after moving to Allen from Houston, and we couldn’t be happier. They are so caring and make sure the kids feel comfortable. We’ve seen them for emergency visits and routine check-ups, I won’t take our kids anywhere else.
